About Laser Light Therapy

Laser treatment can be used on all skin types and almost any age. It's safe, effective and the ONLY FDA treatment approved to reverse hair loss!

FDA has approved the use of laser light therapy for hair regrowth.
It's also proven to repair damaged skin cells!

The Precision Laser Therapy System employs a non-ablative “cold” laser technology commonly referred to as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT). Unlike the “hot” lasers used in skin resurfacing therapies, LLLT produces light energy at wavelengths that stimulate cell metabolism and promote cell health without causing damage or injury to tissue. Precision Laser Therapy stimulates hair growth and skin rejuvenation.

Indications

Precision Laser Therapy is indicated for male and female androgenic alopecia, as well as chemo- or chemically-induced hair loss. The therapy is also highly efficacious in the treatment of thinning hair. Patients presenting with telogen effluvium will experience a more rapid return to a normal anagenic/telogenic hair cycle. Anecdotal evidence suggests that Precision Laser Therapy after hair transplant surgery reduces shock loss and hastens follicle viability. Successful outcomes can also be achieved in the treatment of alopecia areata. However, Precision Laser therapy is not indicated for conditions where hair follicles have been dormant for more than five years.
Localized therapy applied by wand units is also indicated for erythematotelangiectatic and papulopustular rosacea, acne vulgaris, sun-induced skin changes, and lentigines

Therapy Application

LLLT treatment for hair or skin is performed by directing light upon the scalp or skin using a combination of specially configured diodes and individual lasers. Hair loss therapy patients sit under a special light hood for treatment durations lasting 30-60 minutes. For skin treatments, a technician moves a light wand over affected areas. This therapy is compatible with other treatment modalities such as peels, microdermabrasion, and retinols. Precision Laser Therapy is invigorating and painless.

Treatment Protocol: Hair Therapy

Optimum results with Precision Laser Therapy are achieved through a consistent treatment regimen and good patient compliance. In the resolution of moderate androgenic alopecia, one full year of treatment is recommended, according to the following guidelines:

  • Months 1 to 3: 1 hr per week
  • Months 4 to 6: 1 hr every other week
  • Months 7-12: 1 hr per month
Therapy duration and frequency can be modified for patient convenience and/or disease severity. Ancillary products, including Precision nutritional formula, shampoo, conditioner, and scalp cleanser, provide additional therapeutic controls to assure positive outcomes.

Mechanisms

Precision Laser Therapy works by waking cells within the hair follicle from dormancy into an active growth phase, and in skin cells, it accelerates growth and improves appearance. Enzymes in mitochondria are light sensitive, and particular wavelengths of light will enhance and increase their output of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) that can be used by the cell for growth and regeneration.
Different wavelengths of light energy are more effective than others in stimulating energy production. The Precision Laser Therapy System uses a combination of the two most effective wavelengths to promote accelerated production of healthy skin and hair. The light in the visible red spectrum (at a wavelength of 660 nanometers) stimulates surface cells, clearing the debris of damaged cells and opening pores in the skin. The infrared light (at a wavelength of 950 nanometers) penetrates deeper into the skin layer where hair follicles proliferate. Applying the two wavelengths of light results in increased cell metabolism, increased blood supply to the tissues, and modulation of inflammation that prevents swelling and pain.

Real Results

Use of these wavelengths on people with alopecia produced a hair count increase of 93.5% and a 78.9% increase in hair strength. All the subjects saw some improvement. Other studies' results show a 40-60 percent increase in hair density combined with a remarkable 85 percent success rate in halting the progression of hair loss. The success of this treatment will depend upon the number of cells that are merely dormant versus those that have degraded and lost the ability to regrow hair. Recent studies found that 90% of the people that received laser therapy had benefited from reduced hair loss, hair regrowth, or both. More than 40 percent of the participants in the study experienced positive results as early as 6 weeks and the other half between 6 to 12 weeks.
Healthy hair and skin have profound effects on self-esteem and personal success. Low-Level Laser Therapy, as delivered as part of the Precision Laser Therapy System, offers people a pain-free, scientifically proven method to promote and maintain beautiful hair and skin.
